How To Get The Best Prices

This article will explain some of the best ways to get the most bang for your buck for those items of clothing that you desire. With certain brands that produce such high demand but provide only a limited amount of supply you can see the resale prices inflate to outrages amounts. Some prices are outrageous from when they initially come out through their product releases. The streetwear resale market can be quite the monster to tame but there are many resources out there that can help with taming this beast. I will explain how to use email, search engines, and websites to find the best prices. Without further ado let’s get to it:

Mailing Lists
One of the simplest ways to receive the best deals and sales are straight form the source. Join the emailing lists from some of your favorite brands, websites, and online stores. I would advise to make an email separate from your main email that is solely used to receive the mail from the sites you are signing up for. Seems like stretch but emails can get lost in spam or just lost in your emails then you end up missing out on a great deal because of it. Of course this is simply a suggestion. Some of my favorite sites that often run sales and sell discounted items are; Nordstrom/Nordstrom’s Rack, Jack Threads, Nike, Adidas, Finish Line, Zumies, Pac Sun, H&M and DR. Jays. Everyone has their own favorite brands and stores, these are just some of the ones that sell a variety of brands and items that are well received in streetwear.

Optimizing Search Engines
Here’s a resource that almost everyone is familiar with. You can easily google the item or brand that you are looking for and look around the search queries that way. But the best way to tackle search engines is to use keywords. For instance, if you are looking for a certain item on sale, type the name of the item followed by “sale,” “discount,” “clearance.” That way you get those search queries that take you straight to what you are looking for instead of having to go fishing through search queries that don’t. All the best websites use keywords and tags to get more people to discover them so this is a good way to do so. Another way to use search engines is by finding local brands or stores. Some people like to try on certain items or buy them straight from stores, and even better if they are local. Using keywords comes into play again. Example, if you are looking to buy new shoes and want to try them on before purchasing them. Just search sneaker’s followed by your city/town. You can find some neat stores and sales around town and you’ll be able to try the shoes on for measure. This is the way I discovered Saint Alfred’s in Chicago.

Websites
These are some websites that strive in the resale of new and used items. My favorite one which I wrote the recommendation article on is Grailed. Grailed, as I have preached before, has some of the best prices around and the items you see on the site will almost always be legit. You can easily view the posters ratings and determine whether you want to do business with them. You can easily search for specific items or brands and look through what people have posted. Often times you can find a deal that is hard to turn down and you end up wearing that item with pride. The site also comes with a buyer protection guarantee, key when buying items from strangers. Another good site to use, eBay. It is not my favorite but it works. Like grailed people post their items up for sale and you can easily search for specific item. The bidding process is a great tool to use, you might end up winning the bid at a low price then you’ve got yourself a steal. EBay like grailed, also has a buyer protection guarantee that comes with a full refund if something goes wrong. Kixify can be used to find kicks. Shoes are a big part of streetwear and you wouldn’t want to miss out on owning some of the freshest pairs of shoes out there. Kixify is like Grailed except it is for shoes. Easy to use, all you have to do is select the shoe you want and your size and you will most likely find what you are looking for.

Forums
Forums can possibly be the best way to find a great price of an item. Forums allow anyone to post open ended or specific questions and other people can answer it. It is not rare to see users ask for certain items of clothing, and where to find them. People then can do the searching for you and comment direct links to the items. You can then compare and contrast among the websites that were given to you for the best available price. Some of my favorite forums include reddit (/r/ streetwear, and /r/sneakers) as well as the hypebeast forum. Some more specific forums can be specifically for this like reddit’s /r/kicksmarket or /r/streetwearsales. The only issue with the use of forums is that they are harder to sort through which will make it more difficult to find a specific item.

Social Media
This one is more specific to Facebook. On Facebook people make group’s where people can sell items. I myself have been a part of a few and for the most part they do alright. These groups can be tailored to a certain city, brand, or style. The biggest issue with using Facebook is that there isn’t much protection there. You would have to fully trust the seller to deliver you the product and sometimes it can get sketchy. Another issue is that the groups make it hard to find specific items. Of course you can always post and ISO (in search of) and hope for the best. Alright, that concludes the list. I hope that these were helpful and that you’ll end up finding that grail item at a desirable price. hit counter
